I bought one of these as a base station for of the 70CM and GMRS bands. It works great and programs very nicely with the Software and Cable which was provided. So far I am pleased with it given the price. It is Part 90 certified which is important for use on the GMRS frequencies if you are going to transmit. I am looking for some local packet repeaters and will try it out with my TNC when I can. Bottom line, for the price, it seems like a decent radio with good output. I am taking off on star because of the poor user manual. I know the Chinese do the best they can with the translation ... sometimes it just doesn't make sense. It recommend this radio to someone wanting an inexpensive UHF transceiver for 70CM or the Land Mobile frequencies.

What a great radio! Not cheap but built nice. The receive and transmit are top of the line. This radio makes any cb radio junk but that's just me. GMRS/FRS you can use this radio in conjunction with your family handhelds.

The transceiver works good. It is a decent transceiver at a low cost. The receive pick up a little more noise than a more expensive transceiver. The transmit seems to work fine. I have had good reports on my signal and audio quality. There isn't a whole lot of activity on this band so for what I paid for it I am Happy.

Good Radio works great I got it to go about 3 and a half miles with out a repeater using a Tram 1185 Amateur Dual-Band Magnet Antenna off of walmart.com. The other radio i was using was a hand held UV-5R with a little car mount antenna, both went that far. Only bad thing i have to say is when the screen is blue its hard to see the numbers there kinda light, idk if you can change the color of it yet, I only had it for 2 days now tho.

retevis 220 mhz amatuer radio i like it it's just a hassel to comunicate with the company to get questions anwsered or buy the programing cable they do not give you much options or if the radio has an end of transmission signal after the mike is unkeyed i was unhappy that i have to purchase the software cable to program this just a poor choice
