RT6 Long Range Waterproof Walkie Talkies

Love this unit. Use it in the backcountry to monitor forestry traffic, and let them know my location when traveling up active logging roads. Excellent customer service, very helpful answering questions, had to replace a lost charging cradle, Nancy was awesome.

Antenna: The supplied rubber duck is a good match to this radio – I also tried the SainSonic INF-661 36cm whip, and while that has made an improvement on my Baofeng GT3, it made no difference to the RT6. Walking around Hyde Park I was receiving repeater stations over ten miles away. Signals from the International Space Station were received very well, producing good SSTV images. Transmitting: My meter indicated 5W output on full (H) power. The RT6 had no trouble opening repeater stations, and audio reports have been good – on one repeater (12 miles away) I was told that I “could be a mile down the road, and not sound any clearer”. VHF/UHF is line-of-sight communication though, and your mileage may vary, depending on the environment you are working in. The 1W speaker provides clear audio, loud enough to hear incoming signals when walking around outdoors with the volume at ¾ full. Switching to FM broadcast receive it was fine to act as a small portable radio. Programming with CHIRP is very straightforward, and the RT6 is included in the latest version. It is worth making a backup of the initial radio settings before reprogramming, since key radio features can be altered – aside from just adding frequencies!

The radio is nice - but I wish there was better information in the manual.

Have purchased these radios before and work very well , We have our homes close together it makes communication very private and easy. Also use them for the business and works excellent around the job site .

When I am hosting events communication is the most important thing for my team. I was really surprised that these Walkie Talkies were as well priced as they are and durable in ways that will make sure they last a while. Lots of great selling points on these.

I purchased these to use with the kids for them to use with each other. I got the Retevis brand because they seem to sell a lot of walkie talkies and their ratings are pretty decent. Overall they work really well. They came with enough charge that I was able to get them up and running very quickly. My son and I tested it and I walked at least 1/4 mile up the road and they worked really well.

I bought this so I don't have to shout through the house to get my grandchildren attention. I took it for a ride to see how far I could go before I lost contact. I live in a suburban neighborhood and I was about few miles from them

Work pretty well but need setting up and the software came with it

These radios are really good.. when they work. I had it about 2 months and one of the docking chargers stopped working and got really hot when plugged in. Contacted support email, and got response.because the radios are really nice.

We bought these to help us communicate when we check irrigation systems at one of the large properties we maintain. It has great range and worked awesome. Batteries seem to last quite a long time as well.
