These 2 way radios were perfect for our needs, heavy duty performance for such a small radio, clear voice and with all of the features as well, the staff at our hotel loves them.

There's no doubt about the fact that these radios kick butt for the price that they're offered at. I love all the features and the battery life is 12 hours (continuous) BUT they can be in standby for the whole week if you need them to! VHF and UHF are both possible on these walkies and the range is phenomenal. A few of our state agencies have opted to wear these while doing SAR rather than using their huge Motorola radios. The chargers are a bit cheap in appearance and could probably use some work, but they get the job done. Only downside is when you're clipping them to your belt you can sometimes bump a button without realizing it and accidentally switch channels. I recommend a case that slips to your belt that you can slide the radio in and out of without removing the case from the belt, which cuts down on accidental button presses.

I'm not an expert on CB radios but in comparison to friends ones the RT-5R is a step above in build/sound quality and has many more options than anything bought locally in the same price range, comparable radios are $150+ from what I have looked at. Radio itself performs really well being used in a construction site scenario where I could comfortably transmit and receive through at least 10 floors of concrete slabs / walls, from inside elevators and have so far tested the range though those conditions at a 2 CBD sized block range. I have dropped it several times onto concrete flooring and still operates as new and battery life is great, have owned it for approx. 3months irregularly and have only had to charge it once and that was after listening to FM radio stations for 2 solid 8hr days straight combined with regular use. With the radio I also bought the USB cable to program it and a rubber case. the usb cable works but the software needs some attention as is default in foreign language and has no walk through on how to program the available functions in either English or any other language ended up finding a tutorial on youtube for another similar radio. The rubber case is a bit average, it has quite a loose fit but also stops you from charging the radio directly in the cradle without peeling it off out of the way. Apart from that it serves its purpose of impact resistance. Overall I am quite happy with the product and have recommended it to a few people already.

Seems to be a good product, but one of the LED's in one of the chargers stopped working. It still appears to be charging, just no gauge as the LED is suppose to change color when charged. They work great so far. Used inner plant for locating circuits.

It looks good so far. My staff members are still trying to figure out the usage. We are still learning the different systems and their functions. But as far as they are concerned, it looks good.

The radios arrived in 4 days, we are extremely happy with the delivery time. We used all 10 radios for a 4 day church conference in a downtown venue that had poor cell phone reception. All radios worked great with no issues, the radios are rugged, and after a 10+ hour days the batteries lasted into the following day! Everyone was amazed with the quality of the walkie talkies & the other churches attending the conference took information about these walkie talkies to order some for their congregations. These are great little radios for the price. I own a commercial fishing boat in Alaska and I use them to communicate with my crew when we are on the boat. They help save our voices and make communicating with each other much easier. These radios are inexpensive compared to some of the other alternatives we looked at(up to $3000) and solved our communication problem just as well.

So far so good. This is my first HAM radio and I don't know much about it. So far it works great, all the parts were in the box and delivery time was very good. I'm very happy with purchase.
