Bought these as a birthday gift for my niece . It is pretty loud and cover quite a decent range . I don’t know if it covers 3 miles , but we use it at home probably within 1500 feet range . Easy to use , pretty good product

It finally turned out to be a viable tool, we use it in a cruise, voice is clear enough to each other and the talk range somehow is influenced by the weather and obstacle, but in most time it works good.

I needed a radio that could work through brick and cement walls on a multi-building campus. This radio does the job, where the cheaper, The radio taps out eventually so your mileage my vary, but it's worked for our application which includes communication from one building into another separated by about 1000ft of parking lot and two or more cement walls.

We've had these radios about 2 weeks now, they work great. In buildings they will work easily a half a mile or more (and that is through buildings) Overall, good product, somewhat rugged pretty strait forward. Nice radio.
