Tried them on a hiking with friends, they are clear and loud enough for outdoor use, we can talk to each other in about 2 miles in the open area, they are very handy.

The two Greaval 2 Way Radio Long Range Walkie Talkies we ordered pleased us enough to inspire our ordering two more for increased availability. We now have four placed at strategic places in our house so that they serve as readily available intercoms. That is a blessing as our mobilities decline with age and it obviates the need to yell from one end or floor of the house to another. Just this morning one radio served a home-bound non-ambulatory relative keeping her in touch with a care-giver family member at the opposite ends of our house.

My 4-star rating is in comparison to more expensive radio's that we use for hiking/backpacking, etc. This does not compare to the quality of those more expensive radio's. However, we purchased these just to use around the house and property to communicate with each other when someone is working in the garden or garage or with children on another level of the house - just because we got tired of yelling at each other. For that purpose they are excellent.
