As others have said these radios work great right out of the box! The batteries really last well too as there is a battery save mode when not transmitting.

We bought these mainly because our sons love to play with walkie talkies and my older son wanted a hand mic like police officers. We have brought them camping several times and trips, family parties, the boys play army, police, tons of stuff. We love them because they are chargeable. They work pretty far away (our kids are 4&7 so they haven't been super far from us) one of the hand Mocs doesn't always work, which is a bummer. They don't work with other types of walkies...but they do work with this same kind. We have 2 sets and all 4 work together when they are on same channel. We've had them since 8/16 and its 11/16 right now.

Great price for these walkies. Having an ear piece for each one is nice, though the mic connected to the ear piece cable isn't the best sounding. The internal mic in the walkie sounds better. Had a really hard time finding range for these walkies. They worked fine in close proximity, for example a couple buildings area, and through 1-2 walls. When I took them into the mountains, they did not appear to work more than a couple miles. So don't expect to use these for long distance. Close range they sound great. Battery life is great.

Purchased for our church staff to use for communication action between various areas of church property, security, etc. Very pleased with quality of product; good reception- covers a large area. The price was quite a value.

I bought these over the Baofang 888 walkie's since they had a better review and a few more things. So far so good, I drove .6 of a mile and still had reception. I recently bout a 7.5inch antenna to replace the 5in that comes standard just for the added distance. I'm happy with my purchase. The earpiece has nice clear sound aswell. Good job on these, works out of the box. I also like the fact that when you power on the voice let's you know what channel you are on.

So far so good. This is for hotel use. Normally purchase Motorola that cost $1300 for six. They get damaged or misplaced at hotel. These are much cheaper and worked good in my home during testing. Will have to try them at hotel with one person in first floor and another on upper floor on opposite end of building (5 floors) if it works there then great deal. If not have to go back to Motorola. Will test in a week and update. So we've had these at the hotel now for about 5 months. They are awesome. Tried with one person in upper most floor on north end of building and another on 1st floor opposite end of building. And they work great. This is currently being used in a wood structure building. No static, sounds as good as Motorola. Keep in mind the amount of walls these have to go through in a hotel with one person in 5th floor and another on 1st floor. By the way this is a 17 bay building. We are now going to use this radio at all our hotels and replace the Motorola with these. Hope this helps.
