It is compatible with the popular MOTO TRBO series Tier I and II using standard encryption, as well as other makes and models of DMR supported radios. It is also compatible with any existing analog two-way radio operating on the supported UHF and VHF frequencies for easy migration to digital technology. And almost all the operations can be done via radio keypad.

Good loud audio. Well built. I really like this radio for it's ham friendly feature focus. Would have given 5 stars but still hoping some of the operational quirks it still has in FW V1.4.4 will be addressed in another firmware update.

Radio is built rugged. Works good. Easy to program once you understand how to program a DMR radio. Customer Service understands how to deal with issues that occur & works through them. Would buy again. Retevis stands behind their products. Thank you.

I received my HD1 2 days after placing the order. I am very impressed with the build quality and the overall features with this radio. You can program the entire radio from the front panel there was no need for a computer which makes it an excellent feature. Their customer service Department is excellent. I had a minor issue with the radio getting hot when using high power I contacted customer service and they responded to me in less than 24 hours on how to remedy the problem, that being said I would recommend this radio to anyone with an amateur radio license that is looking for a handheld DMR radio

After spending a few days programming my friends radio, and now my own, I am very please with the quality of the Ailunce HD1. We have had great audio reports from those who we have contacted. These radios are very new out and unless someone already has a code plug written, you will be building your code plug from scratch as in my case I have the very first HD1 in the state of Montana. Between the two units, quality control has been very good. This radio has a nice clear screen with large text on the display. I typically have been transmitting on low power through a oneSpot node, so the battery lasts a very long time. I have yet to drain it below 80%. I do have the analog repeaters set to operate at high power, and still strong battery. Remember when you program your analog frequencies in that you set your bandwidth wide otherwise you will get weaker audio reports.

Great radio easy to set up with the software. I will recommend this to anyone wanting a DMR radio. The radio is very well made and doesn’t feel like a toy. Update: It's been over a week since I received this radio and it works great. Very easy to program from the front keypad. You can find several videos on youtube that gives you plenty of help along with the expert customer service of the seller and manufacturer. Since I live in an apartment I can't use an outside antenna, however, It has no problem hitting analog repeaters 13 miles away. Since at this time there are now DMR repeaters in my area I use a Jumbospot for DMR, which makes it able to talk worldwide on just 1 watt!

I bought two of these to use to scan my local law enforcement frequencies and also use as a communication method with other people like my employees as I do hold an Industrial Business Pool license to operate these in the business band and the fact that these are also FCC certified for that given that you set it up correctly. The sound is quite clear also it could be better like the higher end Motorolas or Kenwoods. Range is great given that you are using the correct band. Works with repeaters also. I chose this instead of the higher end Motorolas or Kenwoods because of the fact that these are dual band (UHF/VHF) which I hate about the higher end ones only being one band. I'm licensed for frequencies in both bands which would mean that I'd have to carry two separate radios or have to switch between the two in order to use both bands. Being able to use both bands is essential for me as we operate around buildings and in cities as well as straight line of sight on highways and whatnot. If you know how the radio spectrum works, that should be understandable. To sum it up through, great radio, no complaints!

The Radio You Always Wanted - It Has Arrived

Let me preface this initial review by saying I have owned the HD1 for only a few weeks, but I feel I have learned enough about it to give an honest opinion. I must also note that Retevis Customer Service (Angela) has been second to none since my purchase. I did have some issues with the software, but her assistance, along with some trial and error attempts, and watching a number of YouTube videos re front panel and software programming, have now allowed full enjoyment of the transceiver to this point. Right out of the box, the build quality of the HD1 will immediately impress you. I have been using Motorola radios for forty years and have been waiting for a Ham friendly high build quality non Motorola radio for many years. It has finally arrived. The sound quality at high volume won’t disappoint you. Battery life has been extraordinary. Although, so far, my use has been mostly receive only, the battery goes for days before needing a charge. The backlight has an ‘always on’ setting that has very little impact on battery drain from my experience. I did have some frustration when I first tried to program the radio via the software. DON’T give up. Update the firmware. Make sure you install the proper drivers for your Windows OS. Clear out of DFU mode, start the programming software, turn the radio on, make sure the proper COM port is selected and everything should go smoothly.
